Weave a Holiday Table Runner

Expand your weaving experience on a Rigid Heddle (RH) loom! The use of pickup (pattern) sticks allows the weaver to create many new patterns, formerly possible only on shafted looms. You will weave a holiday table runner ranging 14-16” wide, and 24-32” long (your choice of dimensions). Multiple Thanksgiving and Christmas colors will be available for the plain weave “ground” and for the Monk’s Belt patterns. A variety of pattern layouts will be available to choose from. You’ll leave class with experience using pickup sticks to create patterns, knowing how to use two weights of Perle Cotton (washable, mercerized) yarns with multiple shuttles, and knowledge of the Monk’s Belt weave structure.
Experience: You must have previous experience weaving on a Rigid Heddle loom. If you took one of our “Beginning Weaving” classes, you qualify for this one!
Unsure about Warping your Rigid Heddle loom? Come on Friday afternoon at 1pm, November 3rd, for a warping refresher. Bonus – you’ll have your warp wound on your loom before class starts Saturday!
Cost: $170, includes use of our looms and equipment. Cost includes the $30 materials cost for yarns, and a project handout.
