Street Car Showdown – BIR

BIR hosts the first major race of the 2025 season Memorial Day weekend. The Street Car Showdown kicks off the three-race Muscle Car Series on the drag strip. Featuring an impressive display of power and speed, fans get a steady dose of 200+ mph speeds and times at 6-7 seconds. It’s intense drag racing that brings race fans back year after year.
Drivers in the Muscle Car Series are competing for series points and, ultimately, a series championship. The race features cars in Outlaw Pro Mod, “Lakeside Cabinets & Woodworking” Outlaw, “Redline Performance & Fabrication” King Street, ” Everything Automotive” Real Street Unlimited, Real Street Natural, “Zack Novak Construction Inc.” 660 Outlaw Street and “Norm’s Tire” 660 Limited Street classes, which make up the Heads-Up classes where both cars launch at the same time with the winner being the first car to cross the finish line. The race also highlights 10 “B.I.G. Performance Solutions” Index classes, the winners of which have a separate run-off to crown the Index Class Champion. Three Strip Eliminator classes, “ACME Tools” Truck Eliminator, and Manual Transmission class round out the race schedule. It’s a full weekend of racing, with qualifying that runs Friday and Saturday, and eliminations on Sunday.
On the road course, the Sports Car Club of America will be providing great wheel-to-wheel racing in a number of different classes as drivers battle on BIR’s highly technical 13-turn, 2.5-mile road course.
Prior to the Showdown, BIR is hosting the SCCA Competition Racing License School, which is how racers can get licensed to compete in SCCA races. The school runs May 23-25 at BIR and includes both classroom instruction and on-track sessions.
