Mental Health Awareness Month: Healthy You/Healthy Communities

Since 2006, Mary Marana has been Executive Director of the Crisis Line and Referral Service that serves Crow Wing and five surrounding counties. She will describe how the crisis line works. She developed and implemented curriculum aimed at suicide prevention for students in 16 school districts as well as educational efforts to inform the public about mental illness called “Make It O.K.”   Mary has a unique combination of skills in marketing, business management and education and has had many volunteer positions over the years. She believes that giving back to the community creates healthy individuals which creates healthier communities.
