Lakes Country Triathlon
August 27, 2016 - August 28, 2016
The race begins with a 1/4-mile swim in Whipple Lake (known for its calm waters), then switches to a 14-mile bike through the rolling hills surrounding the Baxter / Brainerd Lakes area,(staying off of Hwy 210) and ends with a very flat 3.2 mile run through a quiet residential area. The Lakes Country Triathlon is a great race, be it your first or fiftieth!
Kids Triathlon
Check out the Kids Triathlon that the Brainerd Kiwanis Club will be putting on Saturday, August 27 at 4 pm. This event will be held on Whipple Beach using the same transition area as the Lakes Country Triathlon that will be held the next day.
The race begins and ends at Whipple Beach on Whipple Lake at the intersection of North Clearwater Road and Oakwood Drive.
Bikers will leave Whipple Beach transition area at the east end turn right heading south on Oakwood Dr. Turn right on Cedar Scenic Drive (1/2 mile from start). Follow west becoming Bass Lake Rd. Turn left on 120th St SW (3.5 miles from start). Turn right on Cty Rd 18 heading north. Turn right on Hwy 77 heading east, Turn right on Inglewood Dr. Turn right on Clearwater Road (13.6 miles from start).
