Get ready to add a burst of color to your life! Join local fiber artist Karen DeVries for an immersive, hands-on workshop that will introduce you to the world of dyeing natural fibers with Procion dyes. Whether you’re new to dyeing or looking to level up your skills, this workshop is for you!
✨ What’s in Store:
-Learn the art of low immersion and vat dyeing techniques.
-Watch exciting ice dyeing demonstrations and try your hand at mark making with thickened dyes.
-Gain knowledge of mixing dyes for different methods and explore the magic of powdered dyes for creating stunning ice-dyed effects.
-Experiment with Shibori techniques to create unique patterns and designs on fabric.
-Dye small items like t-shirts, socks, or fabric that you can take home and show off!
👚 What to Bring:
-Wear old clothes you don’t mind getting a little colorful.
-Medical gloves and an N-95 style mask are required for protection while handling powdered dye.
-1-2 items to dye in low immersion (such as a cotton fat quarter, a pair of socks, a small t-shirt, or a dish towel). Please make sure items are pre-washed with free and clear detergent—no fabric softeners or additives.
