From Tree to Table: Identifying & Using Local Wood Directly from the Forest

May 28, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Presented by Paul Jacobsen, MN Master Naturalist

In this class you will learn how to use wood from our local forests as a low-cost and sustainable way to make useful household items, including bowls, furniture and utensils. You will be taught what local trees are best, how and when to harvest the trees, how to store the wood, nd how to use it green or air-dry it for later use. Paul will bring examples of green wood and finished wood projects to demonstrate what can be made.

Free for members/$5 for non-members. Advanced registration requested. Limited to the first 20 paid students. Payment due at registration time.

Call the Arboretum to sign up. Class fee is non-refundable.
