Fishing For Dogs

A team fishing event in the Brainerd Lakes Area created by the Brainerd Lions to raise awareness and funds for training, placing and caring for the needs of service dogs in our community. Lions support but are not limited to, Leader Dog and Can Do Canines.

Schedule
July 27th
5 pm to 8 pm Team Registration at The Woods in Merrifield
7 pm Lake Draw

July 28th
8 am –3 pm Fishing Contest
Weigh in Begins at Noon at The Woods
4 pm Weigh in Closes
6 pm Awards Ceremony at The Woods

2nd Place — $750
3rd Place—$600
4th Place—$500
5th Place -$400
6th Place—$350
7th Place—$300
8th Place — $250
9th Place—$200
10th Place –$150

Fishing Contest Rules
Two person teams
Each boat can weigh in 10 northerns under 22” in length
Northerns over 22” will count AGAINST team totals
Must check in at designated landing before fishing and leaving the lake.
Follow all Minnesota boating laws
Must have a valid Minnesota Fishing License
Only northerns under 22” are allowed
Contest hours are 8 am to 3 pm
In case of tie, high card draw
Only fish your assigned lake
Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified.
