Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony at Gichi-ziibi

First awarded in 1776, and with an infinitesimally small number of recipients over the ensuing 247 years, the Congressional Gold Medal clearly stands among the highest honors the United States can confer upon both individuals and organizations, foreign or domestic. Generally speaking, a Congressional Gold Medal is awarded for what must be exceptionally distinguished achievements and contributions to the Nation.

This year’s Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony will be honoring LTC Hortense McKay; U.S. Army Nurses Corps – Angel of Battaan and Corregidor.

The public is invited. There is no charge to attend.
