The Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza

February 3 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Event Overview
The Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza is one of the largest charitable ice fishing contests in the world. The event is organized by the Brainerd Jaycees, a community organization that focuses on personal development and community service.

Contest Format
This year, anglers will be converting length to points. Fish length will be entered into the app by the ¼” increment into the FishDonkey app. The tournament officials will verify and approve the contestant’s measurement, then convert that length to the corresponding point value for that species. For example, a 15-inch walleye/sauger is worth 25 points, while a 21-inch northern or a 7.5 inch crappie are worth approximately 25 points each. The full chart for length to point conversions is available at icefishing.org/length-to-points-scale.

Prizes
The Ice Fishing Extravaganza offers substantial prizes, including cash awards, vehicles, ice fishing gear, and other valuable items. Sponsors often contribute to the prize pool. To see a full list of prizes, check out our prize list.

Charitable Component
The event has a significant charitable aspect. Proceeds from the Ice Fishing Extravaganza support various community projects and charitable causes. The Brainerd Jaycees use the funds raised to make a positive impact on the local community. Learn more at cefishing.org/giving-back.
