DESCRIPTION:Thrive Productions Group and World Help present Christmas In The Round coming to the Gichi-Ziibi Center for the Arts in Brainerd on Sunday\, December 14th at 7:00pm. The event will feature national touring artists Mark Schultz\, Aaron Shust\, Todd Tilghman (Season 18 Winner of the Voice) and Presence Music. Mark Schultz has sold two million records to date\, ten No. 1 singles\, a Dove Award as well as multiple nominations. If you’ve encountered Christian music in the last 18 years\, when you hear the name Mark Schultz\, you will probably begin humming your favorite Schultz hit\, including “I Am\,” “He’s My Son\,” “Letters From War” and “Back In His Arms Again”. Aaron Shust’s success with “My Savior My God\,” winning the 2007 New Artist\, Songwriter and Song of the Year. Later\, as he grappled with a surprise Down Syndrome diagnosis for one son and waged a war with chronic illness for two\, he continued to declare “My Hope is in You\,” a song which spent 14 weeks at#1\, and “Ever Be\,” which debuted at #3 on the NCA chart. Aaron bolsters the faith of his listeners and surprises them\, too\, as with his 2014 Christmas Album Unto Us\, recorded with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Additional pre-concert music will begin 45 minutes prior to show time so come early! \nHSO concerts are free and welcome an audience of all ages. DESCRIPTION:Central Lakes College Performing Arts Center presents KATHY MATTEA Hailed by The Washington Post as “one of Nashville’s finest song interpreters\,” Kathy Mattea has enjoyed much success and acclaim during her35-year career in Country\, Bluegrass and Folk music\, including 2 Grammy wins\, 4 CMA Awards\, 4#1 country singles\, and five gold albums (plus a platinum Greatest Hits collection). Her latest album is “Pretty Bird”\, produced by her old friend\,roots music wizard Tim O’Brien. The wide-ranging collection of songs chronicles a period of re-dedication to singing\, digging back in with a vocal coach and emerging with a poignant and eclectic CD. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 27 at 3 pm | Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts\, BrainerdThe All Choirs Concert combines the spring programs of the Legacy Chorale and Legacy Youth Chorale into one performance. This concert will begin with the first half of the Legacy Chorale’s Minnesota Sings program\, continue with sets by LYC’s Choristers and Concert Choir\, and conclude with the rest of Minnesota Sings.Members of the Legacy Chorale will join the Legacy Youth Chorale on one of their featured songs: “There is Peace” by Jim Papoulis.The All Choirs Concert will include ASL Interpretation\, provided by the ASL/Deaf Studies program at Central Lakes College\, who are enhancing their classroom learning with a real-world signing experience.
