DESCRIPTION:The 4th of July Parade is near downtown Brainerd on July 4 at 6:00 p.m. It starts near Kiwanis Park\, travels north on East River Road\, to Laurel Street\, South 5th Street\, and then heads south to College Drive. \nWatch the Brainerd fireworks over Don Adamson Field starting around 10:15 p.m. The high school hill won’t be available because of construction. But the grandstand bleachers will be open for seating! You must enter at the western gates along the East River Road. Tune in to B93.3 as they’re doing a special broadcast before the fireworks and playing patriotic music during the display. \nParade – 6pm \nLive Music – 8pm\nLyman P. DESCRIPTION:Every year Brainerd Community Action gathers hundreds of artists and vendors in beautiful Gregory Park in the heart of the city of Brainerd for what has become the area’s leading arts fair of the summer. This free to attend event is the perfect way to spend an afternoon supporting the arts and taking in all the park has to offer. Areas with thriving artist communities often see higher levels of innovation with fresh ideas on everything from beautification efforts to better ways of using public spaces. Brainerd Community Action is proud to support those amongst us who wish to help change the way we live\, and Arts in the Park is a celebration of those artists and creators. \nNot only is this free to attend event a great way to get out and support local artists\, but over the years Arts in the Park has also become the biggest fundraiser of the year from Brainerd Community Action as a whole. DESCRIPTION:Due to the recent events\, and circumstances outside of our control\, the board of directors for Brainerd Community Action have made the tough decision to cancel this year’s Arts in the Park event in its entirety. We are grateful to the city of Brainerd and their parks department for working with us to create a safety plan and a version of the event we all felt could be held with everyone’s health in mind. However\, with new requests coming from the state of Minnesota and some hesitation within our vendor community\, we have decided it is best to turn our efforts to 2021. \nWe greatly appreciate everyone’s interest in the event and felt very strongly that it was important to give artists in our area an opportunity to showcase and sell their items this year. However\, we feel it is best to now turn our efforts forward to next year’s event which will take place the Sunday before the 4th of July come rain or shine. \nThank you to everyone who has made Arts in the Park so special over the last decades and for your interest and commitment to the arts. SUMMARY:Fireworks - Brainerd
DESCRIPTION:The Brainerd fireworks are a go and will be around 10pm Saturday\, July 4th. Brainerd Community Action will be launching the fireworks from a slightly different location. \nFireworks are still a go in Brainerd\, with both cities of Brainerd and Baxter allocating funds for the event. \nBut there won’t be a crowd of people on the hill outside Brainerd High School to watch the show this year. Instead\, fireworks-goers are encouraged to stay in their cars and watch the show from afar. \nThe change is due not only to social distancing guidelines to help slow the spread of COVID-19\, but also to ongoing construction at the high school. \nThose who have traditionally viewed the fireworks from locations other than the high school bowl should have no problem seeing them again this year\, Badeaux assured the community. The farther away from the center of town cars are\, likely the harder it will be to see the fireworks\, but Badeaux said they’ll be shot up as high as possible\, and there won’t be any fireworks lower to the ground. \nTraveling for this event?
