SUMMARY:Diana Cherrywood Challenge Quilt Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics challenges artists to create a unique piece of art with a limited color palette. Given simple rules\, they were encouraged to push themselves creatively to design an original fiber art piece\, taking inspiration from Diana\, Princess of Wales\, to create a wholly unique quilt using only the colors pink and white. Three traveling exhibits were chosen and include 200 pieces. The cohesive colors\, size\, theme and texture of Cherrywood make the exhibit one of a kind. There were no limits on technique\, so the viewer will see incredible manipulations of fabric in these 20-inch quilts. The collection is stunning\, and we hope you can appreciate the time and artistry that went into their creation! Of the three traveling exhibits\, Crossing Arts will be showcasing the Diana Rose Collection in their gallery. \nOpening May 27\, this exhibition will be on display in our gallery through June 4. \nThis exhibition is funded\, in part\, by the voters of Minnesota through grants from Five Wings Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. \nFor more information contact Crossing Arts at 218-833-0416\, info@crossingarts.org. SUMMARY:5th Annual “Hoppy Horse Rodeo” fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:This is a family fun event with all proceeds going to the fight against Cancer. ALL PROCEEDS go to the American Cancer Society via Crow Wing County Relay for Life Team “Branden’s Cancer Crusaders”. \nThese are exercise balls with a Horse covering\, and participants ride them on a timed obstacle course\, barrel races\, Pole Bending\, a straight race\, and a new event\, timed single jousting. There are four age groups in each event. Entry includes all five events. Do one or do them all. There are 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place ribbons in each event\, and each age group. There is also carnival games\, and food available on site. \nThis is a FUN family event\, and supports many aspects of the Cancer fight. There are also Raffle tickets being sold and will be drawn for at 3:00 pm during this event. We host this event each year as it was my son’s vision… to keep the research going as if it weren’t for research\, he would not have had the extra time that he was able to have\, a couple extra quality years to spend with his wife and daughters\, and helping in our community. \n$10.00 includes entry into all five arena events. Registration is required\, and registration opens on site at 11:00 a.m. June 4th\, 2022. Events start at Noon. Raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 pm. Food is available on Site. It features drifting\, autocross and open lapping on the road course. \nThe Proving Grounds features turbo-charged cars and trucks. The fan favorite is the drifting exhibition\, where drivers navigate through a course mostly in controlled (or uncontrolled\, in some cases) skids.
