DESCRIPTION:Crossing Arts presents its newest exhibition ‘Following My Creative Compass\, Works By Paula Jensen’. \n‘Following My Creative Compass’ is an artistic journey of Paula Jensen’s work and creative process over the last thirty years. Beginning through experimentation in two-dimensional sketching and painting\, and later finding a strong connection to metalwork and three-dimensional sculpture\, she uses her mastery of technique to express her understanding of herself and the world around her. Jensen’s work conveys great beauty through her use of traditional sculpting methods\, fine details in each piece\, and the overall uniqueness of the medium\, but she has an eye for irony\, magic\, fantasy\, and the strange\, all things that can be found in her metal sculptures. \nOpening October 9\, this exhibition will be on display in our gallery through October 31. DESCRIPTION:Due to the recent events\, and circumstances outside of our control\, the board of directors for Brainerd Community Action have made the tough decision to cancel this year’s Arts in the Park event in its entirety. We are grateful to the city of Brainerd and their parks department for working with us to create a safety plan and a version of the event we all felt could be held with everyone’s health in mind. However\, with new requests coming from the state of Minnesota and some hesitation within our vendor community\, we have decided it is best to turn our efforts to 2021. \nWe greatly appreciate everyone’s interest in the event and felt very strongly that it was important to give artists in our area an opportunity to showcase and sell their items this year. However\, we feel it is best to now turn our efforts forward to next year’s event which will take place the Sunday before the 4th of July come rain or shine. \nThank you to everyone who has made Arts in the Park so special over the last decades and for your interest and commitment to the arts.
