WalleyeDan Kids Against Hunger Fishing Tournament

This contest was conceived in 2013 when two great ideas came together to form Fishing To End Hunger! John Poston, CEO of Kids Against Hunger-Brainerd Lakes Area wanted to do a fundraising event to benefit the charity and he thought a fishing contest would work well. Meanwhile, Dan Eigen, Walleyedan, wanted to put together a fishing tournament to benefit a charity. John and Dan had a conversation about this and their visions came together as Fishing To End Hunger! Dan has been a supporter of Kids Against Hunger-Brainerd Lakes Area, so it was a perfect fit. Bar Harbor was happy to provide the venue, the date was set, and they were off and running.
Kids Against Hunger-Brainerd Lakes Area is a nonprofit humanitarian food aid organization with the mission to significantly reduce the number of undernourished children around the corner in the United States and starving children around the world. Our fully nutritious meals are packaged by volunteers and delivered to starving families with the help of worldwide partners. Kids Against Hunger is not affiliated with or restricted to a particular religious group and does not discriminate on any basis when distributing its meals.
The fundraising goal of this 5th annual tournament is to raise $100,000 which will purchase ingredients to pack 400,000 meals.

1st Place, $15,000
2nd Place, $5,000
3rd Place, $2,500
All participants who raise a minimum of $500 will receive a free K-Drill, a value of $500!
The fishing tournament will be based out of Bar Harbor.
Check-in will begin at 6:00 a.m.
Rules Meeting 7:30 a.m.
First flight will leave at 8:00 a.m.
Second flight will leave at 8:30 a.m.
Scales Open: 9:00 a.m.
First flight return at 4:00 p.m.
Second flight return at 4:30 p.m.
