Lakes Area Music Festival – Open Rehearsal Discussion: Jamilyn Manning-White, Soprano

August 16, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Prior to most LAMF performances a pre-concert lecture is given to give our audience an inside scoop about the history of the music and composers that will be heard during the concert. Each lecture takes place in Tornstrom Auditorium and begins 30 minutes prior to the performance.

We know you love watching our world-class performances each summer! As you can imagine, there is a lot of hard work that goes into what you hear coming from our stage. Prior to coming, musicians spend hours perfecting their own part. Then, upon arrival in the Lakes Area, we spend about five hours each day rehearsing with the full ensembles.

This year you are invited to come and witness first hand the hard work that goes into each performance. The doors to Tornstrom Auditorium will be open at the first rehearsal for each concert this summer, giving you a glimpse at how our musicians work from the initial read through toward the final product you will hear a couple days later.

  • 1:15-1:45pm   Musicians led discussion
  • 2pm                  Rehearsal begins in Tornstrom Auditorium
