Crafting Stories with Truth and Fiction

Writing historical fiction while forming accurate and informative images, developing characters and telling stories of the Scandinavian immigrants who came to America in the turbulent 1860’s is Candace Samar’s passion.  This Pequot Lakes resident skillfully crafts facts and imagination into unforgettable stories.  Her latest of six books “Shelterbelt” was a finalist for the 2016 Willa Award for Historical Fiction.   She will speak about the techniques and challenges of writing historical fiction.  Tuesday, March 14, 1:30-3:30 P.M Heartwood Senior Living, Lakes Area Unlimited Learning.
