Official Kick-off Event for the local Toys for Kids Program
While out shopping Black Friday deals, stop by with your toy or financial donation and make a child’s Christmas special!
MARINES NEED YOUR HELP!
2018 marks the 37th year of the local (Brainerd Lakes Area) Toys for Kids program that provides Christmas gifts for Southern Crow Wing County families. The Heartland Detachment of the Marine Corps League has sponsored this program since the beginning. This year’s program officially kicks off on November 23rd, 2018 with a base of operation in front of the Brainerd Lakes Chamber in Brainerd, 224 W. Washington Street. This program is administered in cooperation with the local Salvation Army.
Through the generosity of this local community, over 1,200 local children residing in Southern Crow Wing County were able to receive Christmas gifts that may not have received any gifts otherwise in 2017. An increase in demand and an increase in difficulty in gaining donations equates to a higher demand for community help this year. Thank you to this community for past and continued support from financial donation or toy donations.
This annual program is supported solely by financial and toy donations from the local community. There is no affiliation with the national “Toys for Tots” program. All monies donated to the local Toys for Kids program are spent locally.
