11th Annual Chokecherry Festival – Pequot Lakes

August 3, 2018 - August 4, 2018

The first Saturday in August marks the 11th Annual Chokecherry Festival in Pequot Lakes and it’s scheduled for August 4th, 2018.
From the Chokecherry culinary contest, pit spitting contest, back-seat driver game, to the children’s activities, crafters, and food vendors (including the almost famous shish-ka-bobbers!), the day and evening is packed with opportunities for food and fun! The Pequot Lakes Fire Department’s live music starts at 6:00pm. Food vendors, beer garden, dancing, and fun for everyone!
We hope you join us and experience the hospitality of Pequot Lakes. Don’t leave until you’ve tried all of the food, enjoyed the entertainment, bought all you can carry, and competed in the pit spitting contest!

Enter for your chance to win the Chokecherry Culinary Contest. The only rule is that chokecherries MUST be included in the recipe. You may enter in more than one category.

Kid’s arcade area on the north side of Trailside Park. A variety of reasonably-priced kid’s games, something for all sizes including Plinko, Bean Bag Toss, tugboats, fishpond, and more with prizes for the kids to win!

There’s an Arts Festival all day featuring artisans to satisfy the most prudent shopper. Enjoy perusing a variety of one-of-a-kind items and local artists. Food vendors will be available to take care of that hunger craving at any time throughout the day including the Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club’s almost famous Shish-ka-Bobbers. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out!

Another family favorite is the Back Seat Driver game. The perfect game for that guy/gal that loves to drive the tractor around the yard – slightly more challenging due the the fact that they’re blindfolded. He/she will have you to guide them through the challenge course though – fastest time with the fewest mistakes takes the prize. Many have tried, few have succeeded…

Or maybe you’d like to try pit-spitting? A tricky contest because you first have to get to the pit. Amazing results in year’s past, I think the record is 34 feet – Can you beat that?

There’s going to be new amazing food at the Festival this year as well as some of your returning favorites. Don’t forget to get your almost famous Shish-ka-bobbers!

We will again have Chokecherry T-shirts available for purchase! Even if I do say so myself, they look awesome!

Did you know that Pequot Lakes is the “Official” Chokecherry Capital of Minnesota? The City filed the proclamation on June 1st, 2010 and that makes it “Official!” (You can go to http://www.pequotlakes-mn.gov/ to see a copy.

Can’t wait to see you there!
