Paddlepalooza Gull Lake 2016

BIGGER AND BETTER FOR 2016. We witnessed a record turn out last year with over 70 paddlers enjoying an amazing event. This year we are working to raise awareness and money for two very worthy causes. The first being HART ANIMAL RESCUE in Brainerd. Hart builds compassionate relationships between people and animals through quality education, sheltering and adoptions. The 2nd is Kinship Partners. Kinship Partners is a nonprofit youth mentoring organization serving families within Crow Wing county, southern Cass county and Staples/Motley area of Minnesota by providing positive role models to youth in our communities.

Paddlepalooza is an end of the season Paddle Party to celebrate being active, our area, waterways, music, food, community. Join us on Sept 4th for a 5 mile supported paddle from Nisswa Lake to Zorbaz on Gull Lake. Our goal is to bring together the largest group of active water sport enthusiasts for a group paddle with end of season party at Zorbaz. Open to paddle boarders, kayakers, and canoes.

We will be providing support via Jet Ski along with 2 rest stops providing beverages, food, and music. The party really gets going on the patio at the Famous Zorbaz on Gull. There will be drink specials, live music, and prizes!!!
Added Aid Stations along route including BBQ/Beverage Docks.

Please meet at Midsota Metal Works at 10am Sept 4th for pre-paddle meeting. There is plenty of parking here. Their address is 25188 Hazelwood Dr, Nisswa MN 56468.

We will transition to the private/public landing on Nisswa Lake for launching. The group will begin the 5 mile paddle together. There is a rest stop with on the water BBQ and music on Roy Lake. Pull up and have some lunch courtesy of Grand Champion Meats and Nisswa Dock. Shawn and Terry from the Nisswa Chamber will be serving up the goods. Upon departing Roy lake, the group will follow the lead paddlers and head up through Spider LK and then into upper Gull Lake. The Twistin Vixens will be performing their amazing Hula Hooping show on the docks at Point Narrows. Swing by and say hello and refuel with beverages. You are on the home stretch and headed to Zorbaz. Make your way to the outside patio for some music, raffles, and more food/drink. We will be providing shuttle service runs back to Nisswa and Nisswa Lake for participants to gether their vehicles and return to Zorbaz to pick up equipment. Feel free to hang out at Zorbaz and enjoy the amazing paddle you just accomplished.

Please make sure you have a PFD and a dry storage for your car keys. We are all looking forward to a great day on the water!!
