Minnesota’s Lost Towns

March 17, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Rhonda Fochs, a retired history teacher, has spent years researching significant historic Minnesota towns that for a host of reasons no longer exist. She will share her stories of the 130 towns from Morrison County northward.  She narrates discoveries of the town’s beginnings, which lived there, the prosperous years, why the town died and what artifacts are there today.   Fochs learned about the history of place from an aunt who lived on the site of a former logging town in Wisconsin.  She became fascinated with reasons why towns disappeared.  Fochs is already planning a second book about Central Minnesota’s lost towns. She lives in Lincoln with her husband Lenard and their dog, DeeJay who travel with her when researching lost towns.
